My groups experience that too. But alas, particularly in my place and NPC names, I contribute a certain amount of planned humor as well. The funniest jokes are spontaneous. My notes might have a lot of odd stuff in them, but it's usually stuff that could be played either funny or straight depending on the mood at the time.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07090296806321882601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8038823840472916624.post-24060424800350682802013-01-18T11:32:34.648-05:002013-01-18T11:32:34.648-05:00I took the time to wade through the comments under...I took the time to wade through the comments under his post - so many people missing the point.

But how do I say that I am pro-fun (where fun says that this is a game, it is meant to be enjoyed, humour is a part of that) - while anti-'fun' (where 'fun' says that this is a leisure activity, therefore it shouldn't require effort, or carry the risk of failure)?

[I do blame CRPGs. And not just for the endless 'save and retry' style of gaming that says that permanent negative in-game consequences are 'unfun'.] Andy Bartletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06683770320671028815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8038823840472916624.post-29894119699640413262013-01-18T11:06:07.175-05:002013-01-18T11:06:07.175-05:00Agreed! It is the risk of PC death, the possibility that we will fail to solve the mystery etc. that makes the game fun. Hell, it is what makes it a game.Andy Bartletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06683770320671028815noreply@blogger.com
